    Job Title: Front Desk Associate (Part-Time, Afternoon Hours) 

    Organization: Coordinated Assistance Ministries (C.A.M.) 

    Location: 625 N. Union St., Kokomo, Indiana 46903 

    Schedule: Part-Time, Afternoon Shifts (Specific hours to be determined) 

    Position Overview 

    Coordinated Assistance Ministries (C.A.M.) is seeking a motivated and organized Front Desk Associate to provide part-time, afternoon support. This role involves greeting clients and visitors, answering phone calls, managing basic administrative tasks, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and an understanding of C.A.M.’s mission to serve individuals experiencing homelessness or economic instability. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    1. Reception and Client Interaction 

    • Greet and direct clients, visitors, and volunteers upon arrival. 

    • Provide basic information about C.A.M. programs and services. 

    • Maintain a calm and respectful environment in the front lobby area. 

    1. Telephone and Communication 

    • Answer and route incoming calls, taking detailed messages as necessary. 

    • Follow up on general inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member. 

    • Monitor voicemail and email for urgent messages that require immediate attention. 

    1. Administrative Support 

    • Perform basic data entry and record maintenance for client information. 

    • Organize and file documents, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive materials. 

    • Manage inventory of front-desk supplies (e.g., forms, brochures, office materials). 

    1. Coordination with Staff and Volunteers 

    • Communicate effectively with residents, day clients, volunteers and managers regarding client arrivals and needs. 

    • Assist with scheduling appointments or meetings, as necessary. 

    • Support staff with additional administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations. 

    1. Safety and Cleanliness 

    • Monitor lobby and entrance areas, reporting any safety concerns or facility issues to the appropriate personnel. 

    • Keep the reception area clean and organized, ensuring a welcoming environment. 

    Qualifications 

    • Education: High school diploma or GED required. 

    • Experience: Prior experience in a customer service or reception role preferred. Nonprofit or social services background is a plus. 

    Skills: 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. 

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic data entry. 

    • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 

    • Personal Attributes: 

    • Friendly, approachable demeanor with a commitment to customer service. 

    • Dependable and punctual, capable of working scheduled afternoon hours. 

    • Willingness to learn about C.A.M.’s mission and sensitivity to the needs of clients experiencing homelessness or economic challenges. 

    Physical and Work Environment Requirements 

    • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods. 

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs, as needed for office supplies and materials. 

    • Work is primarily conducted in a reception or lobby setting.
